BLANKENSHIP - COZAD
Brixey Blankenship has been dancing all of her life, receiving her training at Taylor Dance Studio and Lamar University. She also studied the Royal Academy of Dance ballet curriculum, while dancing with The Southeast Texas Ballet Company.
In recognition of her talents, Brixey was awarded the Ron Abshire Dance Scholarship and the Bob Griner Memorial Jazz Scholarship by Lamar University. Since graduating from Lamar with a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies, Brixey has established a name for herself as a sought-after dancer and choreographer.
Brixey continued her training in Los Angeles. Her professional credits include: Eye Mouth Graffiti Body Shop, By- Coastal, Triple D. Productions Incorporated, Hinder’s “Use Me” music video, “Studio City” web episode, and The Velvet Martini Dance Company.
Brixey’s passion for dance is reflected in her busy multi-city, multi-state schedule of choreography and teaching. She's choreographed and taught for The Beat Dance Convention, The Streetz Dance Convention and Competition, National Dance Alliance, Lamar University, Stephan F. Austin University, Manhattan Dance Team, Beaumont's Famous Burlesque Revue "Cabaret de Reves", and many award winning routines nationwide.
Brixey spent 13 years as the Lamar University Dance Team Director and just recently opened The Movement Performing Arts Studio in Port Neches, TX.
Brixey will lead a class that is passionate and exciting that offers many styles including contemporary, hip hop, jazz funk, lyrical, and jazz!
